Allocate monthly budget to dailly grain

Hi,

I am trying to produce a dashboard which has KPIs on using performancepoint.  The dashboard will be refreshed daily.  The businesss process for the actual values is at the grain of the day while the business process for budgetting is at the grain of the month.

I want to  be able to  show my KPI day by day by comparing actuals year to date versuss a budget year to date and also look at daily performance versus a daily budget.

I could do this by getting the budget process to allocate its budget daily, however I suspect this is a common problem and there is a better solution.

I have tried using a time intelligence filter in PPdashboard designer but I get an error when trying to allocate a monthly budget to a daily level.

I think there must be some feature in SSAS that I have not discovered yet.

It says:

"SSAS supports this type of scenarios and will resolve granularities in the context of the query execution. "

However I need a bit more detail.  Can anyone point me to a working example  or explain in a different way please?
