Best practices to implement a PowerPivot proof-of-concept to develope a complete SSAS tabular solution

Hi,

I'm thinking for a my customer initially to build a proof of concept by using PowerPivot for Excel on a my development client and then, after that my customer give me him approval, I will migrate the PowerPivot proof of concept built into a SSAS Tabular 2012 project.

Obviously, I want to minimize the effort to convert PowerPivot data model, DAX calculated columns and measures vs a complete SSAS tabular solution. In order to achieve this goal, I'm thinking to create pivot tables/charts in Excel 2010 with PowerPivot for Excel as in the more similar manner as using Excel 2010 with a SSAS tabular cube.

I've already read some articles that talk about the comparison between PowerPivot for Excel and SSAS tabular, but I hope to have some good suggests by somebody experienced with this work approach. I think that it is a good idea to implement a proof of concept with PowerPivot in order to demonstrate to the customers the SSAS tabular goodness and the related features.

Many thanks for your suggests!
