I need to calculate cumulative values for Product Budgeted Qty and Movement Qty by "Change Date Hierarchy" filtered by Movement Date. The complexity is that "Stock Movements" are additive and "Budggeted Qty" is semi-additive. As explained below, when you apply filter on movement date for the month of Jan 2012, the data get filtered and not getting correct values. You cannot use YTD/MTD functions to calculate. Highlighted is what need to be the output from cube.
The solution has to work like below:
For each change date for the Month of Jan 2012, aggregate from 2012-12-24 to current-member of Jan 2012. This need to be applicable for additive and semi-additive values. Is this possible within SSAS 2008?
Current work-around I have is to expand and pre-calculate Budgeted QTY for each product movement in ETL. But this expands from 1.5M records to 160M records and thus become slower.
