One database for Reporting Services data and another for Analysis Services?

I have a database that contains tables with snapshots of data taken from our OLTP database.  It also contains many stored procedures which are used along with the snapshots as sources for Reporting Services reports.

I'm just getting started with Analysis Services. Should I create a new database to hold the dimension and fact tables that will be used to build cubes?  Or should i put them in the existing reports database?

If I create separate dbs it seems like some data might wind up duplicated in both.  Also, it seems like I may run into situations where I need to join data from one database to data in the other.  Please let me know if there's a good reason to separate them that I'm not aware of.
