I have a time dimension in my SSAS project which lists all of that dates currently from 2004 until 31-dec-2012, I want to extend this time period to 31-dec-2016. I believe this dimension was created using the "Generate a time table in the data source" option. The TimeStructure property is available within Visual Studio (BIDS) when I'm in the project but if I change the 'CalendarEndDate' to '31/12/2016' and process the cube, full process or dimension only process then it doesn't seem to take effect and only shows up until Calendar 2012 in the browser.
The Dimension uses the DSV which in turn uses a table within the database. Is it not possible for me to update this dimension through Visual Studio (BIDS) or SSAS? Does that mean I must use a SQL update script to update the underlying database table in order to extend until 2016?
