I have a ROLAP Cube that has different query performance results when using the same MDX statement on a MDX query window vs Browse the cube directly. Using the SQL profiler I have traced the MDX statements in both the situations and noticed that they translate to different TSQL statements and hence return results taking different amounts of time. MDX stmt on the MDX query window runs in less than a second whereas the same MDX on the cube browser or through the query designer using SSRS takes about 7-8 minutes.
I am not sure what is causing this issue. Due to this bad query performance my reports that are written against this ROLAP cube take a really long time to execute and bring back results.
Can some one help me resolve this issue? Do you have any suggestions?
