Hi,
From what I understood, in order to create a cube, first of all dimention and fact tables need to be created inthe relationalDB. Then based on them we build the SSAS cube through views and tables etc in VS. This is how I built my first cube.
Please correct me if the dimention and fact tables DO NOT need to be created in therelational DB at all rather built dynamically through VS SSAS project to be held in the SSAS DB.
If I was correct, after creating the dimention and fact tables in the relational DB how should they be updated- By using SSIS or by using simple timed sql jobs to create and update the tables?(keeping in mind that we already hold all our data in SQL server).
